Nathan Hughes has been a full-time business broker and commercial REALTOR® since 2005. With an emphasis on teamwork and customer service, Sperity Real Estate Ventures was founded in September 2015. Combining the decades of full-service real estate and business brokerage experience with his own business and restaurant experience, Nathan has carved a niche for himself in the Richmond restaurant market.
Nathan earned his CBI (Certified Business Intermediary) designation from the International Business Brokers Association in 2014. The CBI designation is only awarded to members that have met stringent educational and experience requirements, and that hold themselves to high ethical standards. Continuing education and constant improvement is a hallmark of a CBI.
After several years of classes and preparation, Nathan earned his CCIM designation from the CCIM Institute in 2018. The CCIM designation denotes that the wearer has completed advanced coursework in financial and market analysis, and demonstrated extensive experience in the commercial real estate industry. CCIM designees are recognized as leading experts in commercial investment real estate.
Giving back to the industry and being involved in the community is important to Nathan. He currently serves on the Board of the Economic Development Authority for the City of Richmond, and in mid-2017 wrapped up a term on Commission of Architectural Review for the City of Richmond. Nathan has been and continues to be very involved with the REALTOR® associations, most recently serving 6 years as a Director on the Board for the Virginia Realtors and 3 years as a Director on the Board for the National Association of Realtors, as well as a variety of committee work on the local, state, and national levels. For several years, Nathan was involved with Special Olympics of Virginia, and helped each year with the planning of their fundraising event, Over the Edge.
